Take Action -

I've got this idea... It's a good one trust me. Before I say what it is I'll get into detail about how I came up with it.

Like everyone else who is actively researching and looking for answers to that 70+ year old question "Why is Cannabis illegal?" I was amazed to find a surprising amount of evidence that proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Cannabis is a resource of such significant importance that to continue on with it's prohibition would borderline on a Crime Against Humanity (As far as I'm concerned anyway) The information that I read all points to the same thing -> Corporate Industry. It's that simple. This is a case in which I firmly believe that Votes alone will not change the laws regarding Cannabis because Corporate interests are far more important to politicians than anything else. We can have as many Pro Pot Rallies as we want, we can protest until the cows come home but the one thing that will not change is the hold that government has on the education system and the information, whether it be true or not, that is taught to our children. It is fundamentally essential in the battle to end the prohibition against Cannabis that the public be well informed and educated about both the benefits and risks associated with the consumption of Cannabis for any purpose. It was due to a lack of education and means to educate oneself in the early half of the 20th Century that enabled law makers to enact such policies as The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937. At the time, Racism was rampant and Cannabis was sold to the masses as something that only Blacks and Mexicans used. The majority of the public bought into this due to their attitudes towards Blacks and Mexicans as well as the lack of information/research available at the time. The Education system is purposely misleading the youth to believe that "Pot will ruin your life!" when the facts actually point to the opposite, it will enrich it. It was during the time when Cannabis was first prohibited that a nation wide purge of all wild Cannabis plants in the U.S.A. was undertaken. As the saying goes "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" As a result, the generations that followed have been brainwashed into thinking that this plant is something that is foreign to us and not really significant in anyway other than to get stoned off of. The kids haven't been raised to see that this plant is actually a great source of nutrition, fiber, clean air etc, etc... The Answer to most of the problems that face the world today. They've been raised to associate thoughts of Cannabis with frying pans and skid row. This attitude towards Cannabis must be changed if we are to have any chance of legalization anytime soon.

Now for my idea ...

As I mentioned before, Cannabis actually grew wild in North America at one point in time. WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS PLANT EVERY SEED THAT WE GET OUR HANDS ON IN AS MANY PUBLIC PLACES AS POSSIBLE! SHOPPING MALLS, CITY HALLS, SCHOOLS, NATURE TRAILS, PUBLIC PARKS ETC... RADICAL IDEAS COMBINED WITH RALLIES AND PROTESTS WILL MAKE AN IMPACT!!

Possession of 15 grammes of marijuana to be legal as of New Year

Prague - The Czech government today set the drug possession limits under which the possession of up to 1.5 grammes of heroin, up to one gramme of cocaine and up to two grammes of methamphetamine (pervitine) will not be punishable as of New Year.

Czechs will also be able to legally possess up to 15 grammes of marijuana, according to the Justice Ministry's proposal approved by the government today.

Justice Minister Daniela Kovarova drafted the proposal on the basis of the current court practice.

Kovarova told CTK that last week the authors of the proposal met experts and agreed that the limits used in the current court practice were acceptable.

Initially, the proposal allowed for the legal possession of up to two grammes of hard drugs, she said.

"The government finally decided that it would stick to the current court practice and drafted a table based on these limits," Kovarova said.

Kovarova and Interior Minister Martin Pecina were charged today with assessing the functioning of the new rules after some time.

A week ago, the government approved the list of hallucinogenic plants and mushrooms, including hemp, coca, mescaline cactus and magic mushrooms, and decided that people would be allowed to grow up to five pieces of such plants and keep 40 magic mushrooms at home.

Shortly after the list was released, Czech cacti growers voiced concern about the new government's directive which set limits to growing plants containing mescaline.

Mescaline is a type of hallucinogen which is illegal in most countries.

The growers of cacti intend to hand over a petition to the government that has been signed by 450 people already.

"Many cacti growers have been immediately criminalised with the approval of the limits set by the Justice Ministry as there are some 4000 types of cacti in the world and some of them can contain a certain amount of mescaline," the organisers of the petition which has been placed on the Internet say.

Kovarova today assured cacti growers that they would not be prosecuted.

She said that growing plants that can be used for illegal drug production is a crime under the valid penal law already.

She pointed out that the government's directives would not have a negative impact on cacti growers as cultivating cacti for scientific and botanical purposes does not harm the interests which the Penal Code protects.

She said that cacti growers could ask the Health Ministry for a permission to grow plants for scientific or botanical purposes.

The government's directive will be specified by the new Penal Code that will take effect on January 1.

The code contains a special provision on the growth of hemp and magic mushrooms.

So far, the tolerated amount of drugs in people's possession has been defined by police internal directives and it was unclear what amount of drugs in personal possession is considered an amount "larger than a small one," which is punishable by the law.

The government's directive concerns the possession of the following drugs:

type of drugamount larger than small
pervitine (methamphetamine)more than two grammes
heroinmore than 1,5 grammes
cocainemore than one gramme
amphetaminemore than two grammes
ecstasymore than four tablets
marijuanamore than 15 grammes
hashishmore than five grammes
magic mushrooms and other hallucinogenic mushroomsmore than 40 pieces
LSDfive tablets
